To Be or Knot To Be

Recebi há algum tempo um livro e duas bobinas de fio para fazer nós chineses num passatempo da marca Dazzle-it que ocorreu no Facebook. Fernando DaSilva que é o autor deste livro, assume também o cargo de director criativo - e podem pôr criatividade nisso - nessa marca.

A few weeks ago I was a winner in a giveaway at Dazzle-it page on Facebook. I got a booklet and two bobbins of Chinese knotting cord. Fernando DaSilva is the author of this booklet. He is also the (much) creative manager at Dazzle-it. 

Está na moda a bijutaria com nós, quer seja macramé quer sejam outras técnicas, que podemos ver nas pulseiras da amizade, pulseiras do estilo shambala, entre outras. Pois neste livro, que recebi autografado (fiquei muito emocionada), o super talentoso e criativo Fernando DaSilva ensina alguns dos nós básicos desta milenar arte chinesa. Apresenta também projectos, explicados passo a passo. Fiz um desses - Infinity Bracelet (a pulseira infinito).

Making jewellery using knotting techiques is fashionable and trendy. Friendship bracelets, shamballa style bracelets, and macrame jewellery are in. In the booklet (mine was signed by the author - I felt honoured), the supertalented and creative Fernando DaSilva teaches some basic Chinese knots. Some projects are included too. From the projects I tried the Infinity Bracelet.

Depois dei largas à imaginação e criei uma pulseira e um colar.
Then I started to imagine my own projects and I created a bracelet and a necklace.

Ao todo, fiz três peças onde utilizei vários nós chineses. Fiquei com metros de fio pelo que quero aprender a fazer outros nós chineses do livro que além de muito boas fotografias com explicações e imagens passo-a-passo, abrange alguns nós essenciais que podem ser usados por si só ou incluídos noutros mais complexos.

I've created three pieces where different Chinese knots are used. I still have many metres of cord that I'll use to learn other knots from the booklet which I highly recommend. Every knot is explained step by step with photos. Several basic knots are included. Some of these will be used when learning to tie more complex knots.

Espero que tenham gostado destas minhas peças. Eu adoro nós e quero aprender a fazer todos, os do livro e muitos mais. Gostam de fazer nós? Quais conhecem?

Não são presentes fantásticos? Entretanto, estou a trabalhar em dois desafios. Um do grupo Operation Tackle That Bead Stash - já vosso conhecido e um outro que provavelmente ainda não conhecem, lançado pelo blogue da loja The Bead Shop de Liverpool. O tema do primeiro é criar algo que seja inspirado nos animais, o tema do segundo é o "Indian Summer" (Verão Indiano). 

Aren't they awesome gifts? At the moment, I'm working for two challenges. One is the September challenge of Operation Tackle That Bead Stash group - this month theme is animals. The other challenge has been created by the blog of The Bead Shop Liverpool - it's in its 2nd month and the theme is Indian Summer.
